「江戸から伝わる染色の歴史」や「美しい柄や素材感」を残しつつ、その染色の魅力を日用品として普段使いできるものとして産まれたのがこの「Kimono Bento Tokyo」です。伝統工芸と現代技術が融合する事で「お箸箱」「お弁当箱」のふたに封入された生地は着物を染める染色加工と同様に１反１反手作りにて色柄を心を込めて絹生地に染色しております。衣・食・住の「衣」である着物文化から産まれた伝統工芸が「食や住」と出会いその新しい未来の伝統工芸を想像しております。江戸から伝わる染色文化はその歴史から「京の雅」に対し「江戸の粋」とされ独特の感性を産み出しました。贅沢を禁じられた庶民は裏地など見えない所にあでやかな柄をほどこしたり、細かい柄や地味目な配色を使う事で「法の規制」をあたかも楽しんだかの様に新たな文化を産み出しました。この「Kimono Bento Tokyo」にはそんな「江戸小紋（東京染め小紋）」や「江戸更紗」といった型紙を使用する染色技法を活用しております。江戸の粋な先輩達の心意気と共に美味しくお弁当をお召し上がり頂ければ幸わいです。
Preserving the ‘tradition of dyeing from Edo period’ and its ‘beautiful patterns and texture’, Kimono Bento Tokyo was produced to convey the allure of the dyeing and at the same time to make it usable as a commodity. Combining the traditional craft and modern technology, the textile used for the lids of the ‘chopstick case’ and the ‘lunch box’ were carefully dyed with hands from the raw textile for each roll of cloth as in the dyeing process for kimono textile.
